Navigation
Navigation Help On the left side of the homepage you should see a navigation bar. This bar contains links to different parts of the course. Some of these links may be the same as the icons on the homepage. The navigation bar will remain visible as you navigate through the different pages of the course.
If you'd like to have a wider viewing area for your course content, simply click the green arrow at the top of the bar. The course menu will be a scroll bar instead of a column on the page.
Icons Icons on the various pages are set up by the course designer (generally the instructor) to help you navigate to different parts of the class. These may include the syllabus, discussion tools, WebCT email, class notes, or even links to web sites that may be outside of WebCT. There are many possibilities.
Breadcrumbs Near the top of your course WebCT screen, and just under the course title, you will see a series of page titles.
These are called "breadcrumbs" and they leave a trail for you to follow, showing you what pages you navigated in order to get to the page you are currently on. You can click on any of the listed pages to return to that page. Using breadcrumbs to navigate back to previous pages is preferred over using the web browser's "Back" button. If you use your web browser's "Back" button the breadcrumbs will not show the true WebCT course location structure.
The top line menu The top line menu can take you back to your myWebCT page. This is the page where all your WebCT classes will be listed.
Resume course is useful if you are accessing Content Module pages. If you run out of time and leave a course, then by clicking Resume Course the next time you log in, you will be taken to the last content page you were viewing. Note that this will not return you to a quiz, or discussion, etc. It only returns you to content pages.
The course map will give you an overall view of the resources for your course. Every link within the course should be available here.
Check Browser can be used to get information about the browser you are using and whether or not it is compliant with WebCT.
Logout will take you out of WebCT. This can be useful if you are using a computer that is not your own and you don't want someone getting into your classes after you have left the computer.
Help will give you general help about the type of page your are currently on. This may be the homepage, a discussion page, etc.
