Academic Scholarships

Academic scholarships are awarded to full-time, degree-seeking students.
All scholarships are subject to the Scholarship Guidelines.

Casper College Honor Scholarship-  The Casper College Honor Scholarship is awarded to Wyoming high school graduates with a cumulative high school G.P.A. of at least 3.00 that are not eligible for the Hathaway Scholarship due to low ACT scores or other considerations.  To be considered for this award, please contact your Wyoming high school counseling office.  Students must be nominated by their Wyoming high school counselor and the number of recipients per year will depend on annual funding levels.  To retain this award, recipients must attept and earn twelve credit hours per semester with a term and cumulative Casper College G.P.A. of at least 2.50.

Casper College Opportunity Award -  The Casper College Opportunity Award is granted to Wyoming high school graduates with a cumulative high school G.P.A. of between 2.50  and 3.00 that are not eligible for the Hathaway Scholarship due to low ACT scores or other considerations.  To be considered for this award, please contact your Wyoming high school counseling office.  Students must be nominated by their Wyoming high school counselor and the number of recipients per year will depend on annual funding levels.  To retain this award, recipients must earn all the credit they attempt per semester with a term and cumulative Casper College G.P.A. of at least 2.00.

County Commissioners Scholarship - Wyoming High School Graduates. 
Applications should be made to the Board of County Commissioners in the applicant's county of residence. Value is usually equal to tuition and mandatory fees for two semesters. Reapplication is permitted.

Division Scholarships - Division scholarships are awarded to full-time, degree-seeking students who are enrolled in one of the college's eight divisions. A faculty committee in each division selects recipients. Applicants must have at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA to be considered. The award is $500 per semester, ($1,000 per year for two years).  To retain this scholarship you must attempt and complete at least 12 credit hours and earn a GPA of at least 2.5 each semester.

General Education Development Scholarship - Available to freshmen and sophomores who hold a high school equivalency diploma (G.E.D.) with score of 550 or better; 3.0 GPA at mid-term in their first semester of their freshmen year can be considered. Superior Student in Education Scholarship Program - Available to Wyoming students who have demonstrated superior academic achievement and and wish to pursue careers in teaching within the state of Wyoming. Applicant must be a Wyoming high school graduate. Additional qualifications are required. Contact the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Studies, College of Education, University of Wyoming, P.O. box 3374, Laramie, WY 82701.

Other Scholarships - Casper College students receive awards from many sources other than those listed above, and most carry eligibility and maintenance requirements. Casper College is obligated to enforce these guidelines, so recipients of such awards are responsible for knowing those rules.
