What is A.C.E.?
ACE allows you to become a Casper College student while you’re attending Kelly Walsh, Midwest, Natrona County or Roosevelt high school. You can attend classes on the Casper College campus, or take advantage of classes at your own high school. You can take classes during your regular high school hours, or in the evening or on weekends. You can even take courses online!
How can this be free?
The cost for tuition and books for an unlimited number of classes taught in your high school, and for one Casper College-based class each semester is paid by Natrona County BOCES. Students just pay for supplies and any special course fees. Additionally, BOCES will pay for students to take the one-credit “College Studies” course at any time.
What classes can I take?
Dozens of classes are approved for ACE credit each semester, but are slightly different at each school. For current lists from each school, contact your high school guidance counselor.
How many credits can I earn?
Students in ACE have earned as many as 50 college credits. That’s more than enough for a vocational certificate, and getting close to enough credits for an associate’s degree! Even just one class each fall and spring during your junior and senior year will add up to a whole semester of college credit.
Who teaches the classes?
ACE classes that are offered in your high school are taught by high school faculty who are adjunct faculty at the College. Classes taught at Casper College are taught by College faculty.
What if I don’t plan on attending Casper College?
ACE credits earned can be transferred to other colleges and universities. Of course, the college or university in which you enroll will have the final word on transferability of credits.
