The English program supports much of the Casper College "Mission Statement," providing courses which “parallel the first two years of baccalaureate education, prepare students for vocational and professional degrees, and provide valuable life-long learning opportunities.” Offerings are “supported by traditional and innovative equipment, materials, and resources... in an atmosphere in which both learning and teaching are respected. To this end, the Department of English strives to maintain excellence in its faculty, staff, and administration so that its services reflect outstanding quality, responsiveness to the individual student and to the traditional values inherent in effective teacher-student interaction.”
The English program also supports Casper College's "Statement of Philosophy" “recognizing the dignity and worth of all people…the Department believes that equal opportunity for quality higher education should be available to all who can benefit; and commits itself to programs designed to promote academic achievement, vocational proficiency, cultural understanding and appreciation of the arts. In pursuit of these goals, the...department strives to balance the wisdom of the past with the needs of the present and the challenges of the future by providing optimal educational opportunities... and encouraging students to be responsible, productive, healthy, and successful individuals."
