Yoga, which was developed over 5000 years ago in India, uses the Asana, or postures, that are relaxing and strengthening at the same time. The postures loosen the joints and stretch and irrigate the vertebrae keeping arthritis at bay and the body youthful even into maturity. They promote the free flow of energy throughout the nervous system and assist in the elimination of toxins and poisons from the joints and other body parts. The postures exert a beneficial pressure on various glands and internal organs, flushing and stimulating them. Yoga is aerobic in its deep diaphragmatic breathing techniques and will help you be more mindful, more in touch with your body, and become calmer and focused in your daily tasks. It will help improve your mental outlook, handle stress more easily, and bring tranquility into your life. Please wear loose clothing, do not eat heavily before class, and bring a yoga mat to class.
