Troubleshooting
The configuration of your PC might have an effect on access to online databases.  Here are some ideas that might help:

  • You may have to turn off your pop-up blocker.
  • You may need to try a different Internet browser.  (Some Internet service providers block or filter content if you use their interface.  Example:  AOL.)
  • You may have to lower your security settings.
  • You may have to enable cookies.  This might be part of your security settings.

Adjusting Norton Security Settings for use with the WYLDCat databases

If you are using Norton Personal Firewall or Norton Internet Security:

  • Norton security software protects personal data (such as usernames and passwords) that are typed into a form at one web site from being carried forward to the next site you visit.
  • In the case of WYLD, this keeps you from being able to get to a couple of the WYLD sites unless you configure Norton to allow those sites to receive that information.
  • Please see the instructions from the Wyoming State Library or WYLD Technical Assistance for additional information.
