Tutors for Transitions complements the existing America Reads-America Counts Program. Reading, math, and study skills tutors, from Casper College and upper division partners, are placed in NCSD elementary schools. Students in grades 4-6 will receive individual and small group tutoring in an effort to help them transition more smoothly to their middle-level education. This project addresses the three needs identified in the NCSD School Improvement Plan: Communication, Problem-Solving, and Reading Comprehension.
