Accommodative Services for Students with Disabilities
Casper College follows the American with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act in providing services and accommodations to students with disabilities.
What services are available?
While it is the college's responsibility to notify students of services and how to access those services, it is the student's responsibility to self-identify and request accommodations. Accommodations are determined on an individual basis according to required documentation of disability. Services provided through Accommodative Services located in Student Services AD 112 may include but are not limited to:
Am I eligible for accommodations?
You are eligible if:
Documentation of a disability requires the following:
Documentation is usually provided by a physician, psychologist, learning disabilities specialist, or rehabilitation counselor.
When to request services?
Students are expected to request services in a timely manner, usually prior to the start of classes. The time needed will vary for the service requested. (For example, some services such as Braille or providing texts in alternative formats can take several weeks or even months depending on the availability of readers, the use of outside agencies, cooperation of publishers, etc.). Students are encouraged to request support services as early as possible; the earlier services are requested, the more likely it will be that appropriate accommodation will be available when needed.
